Sydney
2RPH Sydney 1224AM and 100.5FM
2RPH broadcasts from purpose-built studios in the heart of Glebe at the St. Helens Community Centre. The original concept was to assist vision impaired, elderly and infirm people. Although that remains the main focus of the station’s work, there are now many other people with a print disability who benefit from the service, including English as a second-language teachers who instruct their students to tune in and follow the printed word as it is broadcast.Over 200 volunteers prepare, present and produce on-air programs. Readers and announcers do not edit what they read or make any comments, presenting the printed word as it is written. 2RPH Sydney broadcasts from 6.00 am to 11.00 pm daily and relays the BBC World service overnight.
